Charles Krauthammer : Medicalizing Mass Murder - Townhall.com

I was just talking to my wife about this last night. What's the reason the papers and TV are trying to push his religion under the carpet or even call this a new diesease? How is it that according to the DHS I and other veterans can be considered an "extremist" but not the actual extremist? I find that offensive.

  1. I think it comes under the umbrella of crowd control - especially with the recent focus on outrage over current events. It's a means to separate you (and keep it that way) because it's far more likely that you would be able to obtain supporters and empathizers than a guy in the terrorist category - lending to a much more volatile reaction and bigger event. Labeling you as an extremist or as an individual that is outside of the acceptable follow the leader or complacent behavior also sends a clear message that big brother is watching and it might affect anyone associated with you - people generally don't want that kind of an association or attention. The terrorist however, is already in a separate category which in turn would substantiate which branch and level of the government watches who.
